THE RED RECEPTION BARN

A big, old barn is found on every Kansas farm and Aunt Sue's is no exception.  Down a country road into a tree lined driveway sits the Red Barn at Aunt Sue's.  It's the perfect setting for country weddings, receptions, and rehearsal dinners, family gatherings, large dinner parties, business retreats, or holiday parties.  If you're looking for a unique and peaceful country setting for your upcoming event, this facility may be just ideal!  The oversized front porch offers a wonderful gathering area for friends and family to visit. 

Even though it is called "a barn", the interior is just beautiful! Completely finished with a massive stone fireplace, rustic log staircase to loft area, fully carpeted, central heat and air, complete catering kitchen, tables and chairs for up to 100 guests.
A beautiful, twelve foot mural painted by local artist, Connie Helm, depicts many of the things you will find at Aunt Sue's. Little log cabins, ducks on the pond, the white chapel nestled in the woods. Your photographer will love all the endless options for the "perfect" photo memories of your special event!

SPRING/SUMMER SPECIAL- A meal in itself
Southwest Chicken Salad
Wonderful blend of lettuces and Napa cabbage topped with black beans, corn,
grape tomatoes, shredded Fiesta cheese blend, seasoned crispy rice noodles,
marinated and grilled chicken breast slices and a lime wedge.
Salad is served with Southwest Ranch Dressing on the side and breadsticks.


RED BARN GENERAL INFORMATION FOR WEDDINGS

** Smoking NOT permitted inside the barn, but a smoker's pot is provided on the front porch.
** Alcohol is permitted in moderation and with food. NO hard alcohol, beer kegs, open bar, nor bartenders are allowed.
** We provide a CD player for your use and you may bring your own CDs to play.
** Disc jockeys and small bands are allowed, but music must NOT be heard outside the building. Windows and doors MUST remain closed at all times.
** Owners will set the heat and air conditioner controls for your comfort.
** We provide tables and chairs for up to 100 guests.
** All decorations must be attached with wire; no nails or staples allowed.
** Birdseed, rice, or confetti-like materials are not permitted.
** Candlelight is permitted only if used with approved candleholders that will catch any excess wax. A charge could be added for damages.
** You are allowed up to 8 hours use of the building. This includes set-up and clean-up time. $50 per hour will be charged for additional use. The building closes at 10pm due out of courtesy to our bed & breakfast guests.
** Please leave the building clean and in good condition. Please bag all trash and place in outside trash container. Any items borrowed from the kitchen must be washed, dried, and put away.
** Children under 12 are NOT allowed on the staircase or in the loft area. Please supervise children at all times. No children are allowed outside the building without adult supervision.
** No Recreational vehicles, camper nor tents for over night stays.
** No grilling on site allowed.


2008 FEE SCHEDULE FOR ALL LARGE GROUP EVENTS

** A non-refundable $175 deposit is required to secure your date; balance is due two weeks prior to your event.
** Flat rental fee--Monday-Thursday is $500+tax for up to 8 hours of building use ($50 per additional hour of usage). Includes tables and chairs only.
** Flat rental fee--Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Holiday is $595+tax for up to 8 hours of building use ($50 per additional hour of usage). Includes tables and chairs only.
** Additional Aunt Sue's Catering Fees--One price per person includes buffet style meal and tablecloths.
** $18 each--40 guests or less
** $16 each--41-60 guests
** $14 each--61 or more guests
**Children under 10 are 1/2 price
